Generative AI represents a breakthrough in artificial intelligence and will significantly increase productivity in software development. However, the direct implementation of generative AI in software development processes is still experimental and subject to critical uncertainties regarding security, data protection, and accuracy. The GENIUS project aims to develop automated solutions and customized tools to enhance the various phases of the software development lifecycle by leveraging the advanced capabilities of generative AI and large language models. These innovative methods and tools will support software engineers with generated software artifacts such as requirements, code, and test cases; understandable documentation and guidelines tailored to company-specific data; software quality analyses and improvements; and recommendations delivered through professional chat capabilities. This will increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve the overall quality of software products. EKS serves as a use-case and data provider from the VIBN domain in the automotive industry. EKS’s goal is to accelerate the creation of VIBN through the use of generative-AI-supported code generation.
The ITEA 4 project GENIUS, is part of the ITEA programme, the Eureka Cluster on software innovation. It is funded in Germany by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) under the funding code 01IS24069D.
